Brazil

Brazil holds a special place in the story of Hisportic Global. It was here that the Long family first served as missionaries decades ago, and it remains a vital partner in the ministry’s work today.
The Brazilian Christian Church has grown into a strong and independent movement — vibrant, mission-minded, and committed to the Great Commission. HCM maintains active partnerships with Brazilian churches and mission agencies, including:

  • Missão Cristã do Brasil (Brasília, DF)
  • Missão Cristã Evangélica do Brasil (Anápolis, GO)

Together, these partnerships help train leaders, send missionaries, and resource ministry efforts that continue to impact communities across Brazil and beyond.

United States

The United States is now the world’s fifth-largest mission field, home to more than 2 million Portuguese-speaking people. Over 30 years ago, HCM stepped into this growing mission field to serve Brazilians, Portuguese, and Cape Verdeans through language-based ministry.

Since then, HCM has planted more than 50 churches and continues to oversee a network of nine active congregations and sixteen pastors. These churches serve throughout the Northeast and beyond — in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Georgia, Florida, and Maryland — meeting the spiritual and community needs of Portuguese-speaking families.

Each congregation reflects the mission’s heartbeat: to equip leaders who can reach their own people in their own language. HCM continues to train pastors, support new church plants, and walk alongside existing ministries to reach those who have little opportunity to hear the Gospel in their native tongue.
Hisportic Global partners with Portuguese-speaking congregations throughout the U.S., mentoring pastors and supporting churches that serve local communities. Together, these ministries form a growing network of churches united by one mission — to make disciples in their heart language and strengthen the Body of Christ.

Whether as a small gathering in a family home or meeting in a larger dedicated church building, these growing fellowships represent HCM’s ongoing commitment to plant new congregations in areas of emerging need across the United States.
Some of these churches have been partners with HCM since the mission’s early years, having more than one generation of leaders serving by our side.  Others are new church plants committed to discipling and equipping families to live Spirit-filled lives.  This variety is even reflected in how our pastors were called to ministry in America.

One pastor was challenged by a church member in Brazil to leave his larger congregation at home and answer God’s call to start a ministry to needy families in the United States.  Another was asked by the American missionary who discipled him, to answer the call to ministry in American rather than in Brazil.

Still others were just local church members who were challenged to step up to the pulpit when needed.  In partnership with HCM, these family-centered churches are making a lasting impact in MA, RI, NH, GA, FL, and TN.
