Our Mission

Since 1984, Hisportic Global Christian Mission (HCM) has been devoted to multiplying Christ-followers among Portuguese-speaking peoples worldwide. What began as a calling to reach Brazilian and Portuguese communities in New England has grown into a global ministry that now serves across the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Europe. HCM partners with local believers to plant churches, train leaders, and build sustainable, Christ-centered communities that carry the Gospel into new regions.

Portuguese remains the common thread that unites millions of people spread across nations like Brazil, Guinea-Bissau, Goa, and Timor-Leste—and through that shared language, HCM has been able to connect hearts, cultures, and generations with the message of Jesus.

Today, the mission continues through practical discipleship, leadership development, education, and entrepreneurship. Each church planted, each school opened, and each leader equipped is part of a greater vision: to see lives transformed, families strengthened, and entire communities renewed by the hope of Christ.

Planting Churches

We partner with local believers to plant Christ-centered churches in Portuguese-speaking communities. Each new church becomes a hub for worship, discipleship, and outreach — a living expression of the Gospel in its cultural context.

Strong churches need strong leaders. HCM invests in pastoral and lay training that equips men and women with biblical knowledge, spiritual maturity, and practical ministry skills to guide their congregations faithfully.

Our teams and partners work directly in regions such as Guinea-Bissau, Goa, and Timor-Leste — teaching, mentoring, and serving alongside local believers. Through medical care, education, and community projects, we demonstrate Christ’s love in tangible ways.

The Americas

HCM’s story began in the United States, where millions of Portuguese-speaking immigrants from Brazil, Portugal, and Cape Verde have made new homes. Through partnerships with local believers, HCM has planted dozens of churches and developed a network of pastors serving these communities. In Brazil, we continue to strengthen local churches and equip new leaders for ministry.

In Guinea-Bissau, HCM partners with national leaders to plant churches, operate Christian schools, and develop small business initiatives that sustain local ministry. This growing network is training the next generation of pastors and teachers to lead their communities in both faith and practical skills.

From the coastal region of Goa, India, to the island nation of Timor-Leste, HCM is expanding its mission among Portuguese-speaking populations rooted in a shared colonial history. Our teams work alongside local believers to disciple new followers of Christ, provide education, and establish the foundation for self-sustaining local churches.

Though Portugal has centuries of history with church tradition, much of its population lacks the understanding of God’s grace, forgiveness, redemption, reconciliation, and relationship.  Though the soil in this field is hard, the seed of the Gospel has the power to penetrate the resistance and give its people new life.  We are praying for an awakening toward God’s Spirit in this beloved country.
